Name of this wine

 Chez Labadens, Thomas est le co-fondateur & producteur qui élabore les vins Labadens. Il est aussi durant son temps libre apiculteur dans les garrigues autour de Caromb.

Grape varieties

65% Clairette – 15% Grenache Blanc – 15% Roussanne – 5% Viognier.

Terroir

Garrigue soils, derived from Quaternary sediments, mainly limestone soils veined with clay.

Climate: Mediterranean, hot and dry, with the Mistral wind drying out the vines after rainy spells.

Winemaking

Gentle pressing, vinification 100% in barrels for 1/3 (3 and 4 wines) and 2/3 in demi-muid (3 years). Bâtonnages (stirring of the lees) during the first month only to retain primary aromas. Aged in barrels on lees for 10 months.

No malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness.

Vintage 2022

An early vintage, very hot and dry. Generous harvest.

Nez intense. On retrouve les notes d’agrumes, de fenouil, de tilleul, de camphre. En bouche c’est épicé avec des notes d’agrumes, mentholées et poires confites, de safran, vin complexe avec une belle longueur.
